In 19-sec video, Shani Louk’s body is seen placed upside down in a pickup truck like an animaI, with her upper undergarment puIIed upwards. One man is puIIing her hair, while another puts his leg on her lower body. Tens of others are cheering and spitting on her. Irena Akbar, a woman, a journalist, and a self-proclaimed ‘liberal,’ attempted to whitewash even this. Excerpts from her tweet : “The woman used to post pictures in bikini on Instagram. So it might have been possible that she was wearing bikini or similar smaller garment on that fateful day and was kiIIed like that only. It might be possible that Hamas did NOT (she used not in capital) remove her clothes. lslam says respect women’s modesty hence the fighters should have covered her body, they didn’t, hence it’s condemnable. She also asked a question to non MusIims : “So, why do you have a problem when Shani Louk was possibly wearing a bikini (when she was sadly captured)? Why do you have a problem when her almost-naked body could be publicly seen? Are you again using a woman’s uncovered body to make a point against PaIestinians, and MusIims?” If she has the audacity to write so much openly, imagine what she must be thinking in private.
